A man is at work one day. He hates his job. He goes there everyday, loathing the people and the work. He gets off work and gets on the train, just like everyday. But today is different, he runs into a beautiful young lady on this train ride home. Literally runs into her, they both fall down. He apologizes, offers his hand and helps her up, and then introduces himself to her. They start talking. They fall in love.

He gets on that train everyday, just to see her. And a few months later, she moves in with him. One night, they're watching "It's A Wonderful Life" (the girl's favorite movie) and it gets to the scene where the man offers to get the girl the moon.

The girl looks at the man and says, "Would you ever get me the moon if I asked? Would you be like him and lasso the moon up for me?"

He smiles and says, "I would do everything I could to get you the moon."

She then says, "I want the moon."

He kisses her and says, "Alright, I'll try my best."

Now, this man wanted to be an artist, he was working his hardest to get into a good art college, but at that moment, he decided to follow a different career. He worked for years and finally got his new dream job. He became an astronaut and went to the moon. When he came back from the moon, the first thing he did, was get something made for his girlfriend. And then he went back home, and surprised her. She hugged him, and then he gently pushed her away and got down on one knee.

He said, "I know you asked for the moon, but I am only a man. I cannot give you the entire moon. So, I became an astronaut. I went to the moon. And I did the best I could in getting you the moon. I got you a piece of the moon. And now I want to know, will you marry me?"

He then reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a small box. He opens it up to reveal the ugliest ring ever made. It looked like a piece of dryer lint, encased in resin, set atop a ring base. But no, it was actually a tiny moon rock, encased in resin, set atop a ring base. The girl broke down crying and slowly nodded. She couldn't speak. She was too in love and the sobbing made it impossible. Her man had done as close to the thing she asked him to do as he possibly could. He got her the moon.
